Rotate PDF fixes pages that are sideways or upside down. Rotate the whole document, or enter specific pages to rotate only those. The result is saved as a new PDF without any upload.

Fix sideways and upside-down PDF pages

A scanned page that appears sideways or upside down is a frequent annoyance. Phone cameras, scanners and apps do not always detect orientation correctly, and the result is a document that is hard to read on screen and hard to print. This tool rotates all pages or only the pages you choose, by 90, 180 or 270 degrees, and gives you a corrected PDF.

When rotation is useful

Understanding the angles

The rotation is measured clockwise. 90 degrees turns the page a quarter-turn to the right. 180 degrees flips it upside down. 270 degrees is the same as turning it a quarter-turn to the left. If a page lies on its right side, you need 270 degrees; if it lies on its left side, you need 90 degrees.

Rotating only certain pages

The pages box is optional. Leave it empty and every page is rotated. Type page numbers or ranges, such as 2, 4-6, to rotate only those pages. This is ideal for mixed documents in which only some pages are sideways.

How it works

Every PDF page has a rotation setting stored inside the file. The tool changes this setting rather than redrawing the page, so nothing is lost: text stays text and images keep their original quality. The rotation is added to any existing rotation, which is why a page already turned by 90 degrees and rotated by another 90 ends at 180.

Your documents stay on your device

The rotation takes place in your browser and the file is not uploaded. You can work with private papers without worry, and the tool continues to work quickly even for large files.

Tips

Problems and solutions

The page is still sideways in my viewer. Some viewers cache the old version. Open the newly downloaded file, not the original.

Only some pages rotated. You probably entered page numbers. Clear the box to rotate the whole document.

I rotated the wrong way. Run the tool again on the original with the opposite angle, for example 270 instead of 90.

Free forever

No registration, no limit and no watermark. Select your PDF, pick the angle and download the corrected file.

A real-world example

Nadia scans a ten page agreement with her phone, but pages 4 and 5 were photographed in landscape mode and appear sideways. She enters 4-5 in the pages box, chooses 90 degrees and rotates only those pages. The other eight pages stay exactly as they were, and the final document reads naturally from the first page to the last.

More questions about this tool

Does rotating change how the PDF prints?

Yes, in a helpful way. The page is stored with a new orientation, so printers and viewers show it upright. The page content itself is not redrawn, so quality stays the same.

Can I rotate a scanned document that has mixed orientations?

Yes. Rotate the sideways pages in one run by listing their page numbers, then run the tool again for any pages that need a different angle.

How to use Rotate PDF

  1. Select your PDF file.
  2. Choose the rotation angle and, if you want, the pages to rotate.
  3. Click "Rotate PDF" and download the file.
